Celebrating 20 years of Louise Hilton at Hilton Street
by Steve B
In November 2018, Louise Hilton, a committed staff member, celebrated 20 years at our Childcare & Community Centre.
Louise said: “I had no idea what was going on. They kept that quiet!.”
Louise says she remembers being nervous on her first day and Joy, and Amanda (who still works at the nursery) greeted her in a friendly way.
She started her career in the toddler group.
Now, she is the supervisor for the breakfast, after school and holiday clubs.
When asked what she loved most about the job, Louise enthusiastically mused – “Seeing the kids learn, progress and grow up is a real privilege.”
Louise explained she has known some of the children in the after school clubs since they were toddlers.
When asked what she valued in Louise, nursery manager Nicola had nothing but praise. She stated:
“Louise is kind- hearted and warm. The children in her care over the years have all had a sense of security and enjoy a structure that she offers. Louise is methodical in her routines and keeps both the children and their parents well organised. Louise has over the years worked in a number of different roles ranging from Nursery Practitioner, NVQ Assessor and has lead teams in both nursery and our out of school club. Louise has mentored staff and seen many children in her care from a baby through to secondary school. She is an asset to our team because of her years of knowledge and experience.”
We thank Louise for her dedicated and caring approach to our children and could not be happier she is still with us after two decades.
