Out of School Club

In addition to our nursery we offer breakfast and after school club, including transport to and from the schools below.

There is no requirement to have used our nursery although, in particular, the service offers continuity for previous nursery children and convenience for parents with siblings still at nursery. The Club is currently open to all school aged children aged 4-11 years who go to St Thomas’, St Oswalds, Nicol Mere and RL Hughes requiring childcare between 7:00am and 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.

We serve breakfast from 7:30 – 8:30am offering a choice of cereals. In the afternoon a snack is provided when the children arrive from school around 4pm. We also provide toast for breakfast.

The out of school club supervisor is Louise Hilton who has worked at Childcare and Community Centre for many years. Louise has another three members of staff who work alongside her.
There is a vast range of activities on offer in our out of school club ranging from Construction, Arts and Crafts, Pool and Table football, movies, board games and laptop computers. The children also have access to our additional smaller rooms where activities can be set up i.e. homework club, computers, Arts and Crafts, Quiet time etc.

The staff are highly qualified and experienced carers of 4-11 year olds. They ensure that children enjoy their time at the club by planning timetabled activities, but they also listen to the children and make sure that they have free choice from a range of games and equipment in our spacious out of school club hall. In addition they will have access to our outside playground.

We have a “child’s suggestions board” where children write/voice their thoughts and opinions regarding the out of school club.
