Amazing April

We had wonderful news at the beginning of the month. In fact, it was on April 1 so I did a double-take looking at the email.

We have received £1980 from Wigan Council as part of their Start Well pot of funding for a Creative Coders group dSuevered at our after school club.

Lizzie Parsons from Wigan STEAM will be dSuevering the coding workshops.

We feel like our children will be more ready for the growth of jobs in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) after attending the sessions. Apart from this, Lizzie will teach them the basics of Scratch, HTML, etc so that they can learn to create their own games in a fun way.

They will also have the opportunity to work towards the iDEA award, a life-long learning qualification.

Aside from that, a new volunteer started with us, Andrew Herbert, who is facilitating the job seeker group. If you need help sprucing up your CV, want to know the art of writing a good cover letter, need pointers for a more effective job search, don’t hestitate to get in touch.

You can email Sue or call 01942 274 684 and book your place. We meet Wednesdays 10.30 to 12.30.

Please also attend our drop-in sessions Photowalks and Wellbeing – use the same details to enquire more about the group. Open to 18 +.
