Outside Playtime

Young children need plenty of outside space to explore and investigate. They need opportunities to work on their gross motor skills in a safe and controlled way.

We have a large play area for children aged 0-3 years with a rubber surface and tall secure railings and gate. Our 2-3 year olds enjoy their mud kitchen, chalking, the climbing wall and our crawl through caterpillar. Within this play area is a smaller fenced off play space for children 0-2 year olds to keep them safe from the older children who run about and use ride on toys. The babies enjoy exploring baskets of toys while seated on blankets in the fresh air and love to see the older children over the fence.

At the rear we have a second garden space with secure picket fencing, half rubber flooring under the climbing apparatus and half concrete under the planting area, water play, sand, mud kitchen and general messiness. The 3-4 year olds enjoy making dens, role play, hunting for bugs, growing their own plants and vegetables aswell as dinosaur play and creating fairy gardens.
