THIS WORLD OF OURS – Free creative nature project for young people aged 14-19 🌳🌱🎨

Are you aged 14-19 and interested in nature? Do you want to take part in a creative project which encourages people to appreciate their local green spaces?

Join Everyday and Lancashire Wildlife Trust for a three-day creative project over the summer, where you’ll be guided through creating posters, to encourage the public to appreciate green spaces in Wigan. You’ll take part in a visit to a local green space to collect inspiration, drawing, taking photographs and foraging, before experimenting with various printmaking and lettering processes to produce unique, nature-inspired artwork. Your artwork will go on display at an event later in the Summer too!

Workshops take place on Wednesdays 2nd, 9th and 23rd August, based at The Old Courts with some trips out to local green spaces

Ideally young people will attend all sessions but we understand if this isn’t possible – if you’re interested get signed up!

Participation is completely FREE

Open to young people aged 14-19

MAKE SOME MORE NOISE – Free creative music project for young people aged 14-19 🎵🎧

Are you aged 14-19 and interested in music? Want to gain special behind-the-scenes access to Wigan Museum’s collections? Know your Lathums from your Lottery Winners? Consider yourself an expert on Wigan’s music scene?

We’re running an exciting project over the summer, involving silent disco headphones, maps, and a whole lot of music! Undertake the role of curator, historian, and music journalist as you work with Everyday’s creative team and Wigan Museum’s heritage staff, to create a musical walking tour of Wigan.

This is a brilliant opportunity to try something different, but will also give you experience to add to your CV, as you work towards producing the finished musical experience and launching it with an exciting event (the silent disco headphones are involved *hint hint*).

We will not be asking you to play instruments, sing, or perform (unless you want to that is), so please don’t let that put you off.

Workshops will take place at Wigan Museum on:

Monday 31st July – 1pm – 3pm

Monday 7th August – 1pm – 3pm

Monday 14th August – 1pm – 3pm

Monday 21st August – 1pm – 3pm
